Choosing a neighborhood to buy in
How do you decide where to buy your house in? Do you have any specific reasons why you would choose one area over another? There could be many, and would differ from one person to another. A very logical way of carrying out this exercise is to resort to newspapers and internet sites. As you select various conditions, in terms of budget, area, and space required, the site shall give you options that you can pursue seriously, without having to waste your time visiting a whole lot of properties. The different factors that can have an impact on your choice of neighborhood are:
Budget: The amount that you can afford to spend on buying a house is the most important aspect. In fact, only when you are sure that you are in a position to afford a certain amount or are eligible for an amount of mortgage finance, do you seriously think about buying a home. Hence, this is by far the most important criterion.
Area: The area of your choice is influenced by proximity to relatives and friends and even proximity to the place of work. Other factors like availability of good schools, good and effective transport systems, hospitals and shopping areas also help you choose.
Future Prospects: In case you intend to buy the property for rent or as an investment option, then this criteria gains significance. You need to look at the future, as you may sell of at a later date, and you should make a profit out of the sale. Hence, scan through government notifications and talk to your contacts to determine how the area would be developed in coming years.
Amenities: After you have chosen the area to buy in, it is time to determine the exact community that you would like to be a part of. The amenities on offer at different communities can really impress you and you would like to be a part of it. These could be pools, gymnasiums, mini-theatres, game zones and sometimes even in house schools.
Neighbors: As you choose the community, an aspect which can have a long lasting impression on your daily living is the neighbors that you interact with daily. Try to get an insight into the lives and backgrounds of your neighbors, so that you are sure that you can be a part of them and have a peaceful and nice living.
